Nexus Digital ProAugusto Inacio sacked as coach of Zamelek. The Portuguese coach of Egyptian giants, Zamalek, has been sacked less than four months in the team. This came after they missed out in the African Champions League semi-finals this season after a draw with Al Ahly Tripoli.

The team also lost to Al-Ahed of Lebanon in the Arab Championship this week. This placed a lot of pressure on him which led to Mortada Mansour, Zamalek’s president summoning him to a meeting.

Rumours had it that the coach had been prevented from leaving the club, though this was denied by Zamalek.

A last meeting followed where the club and Inacio agreed on a financial agreement that will terminate his contract with the club.

Inacio said to reporters that “I have ended my contract with Zamalek. Now I become one of the team’s fans,” after leaving Mansour’s office.

“Zamalek need to be more stable, the coaches must have enough time. The players must be more professional and do their best,” he continued.
