Cameroon: Catholic Bishops Collect Body Of “Murdered” Bishop
The Bishops of the Roman Catholic Church in Cameroon have collected the body of their colleague, Mgr Jean Marie Benoit Bala whom they say was ‘brutally murdered’.
According to a communique from the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (CENC), the Bishops who received the body were Mgr Samuel Kleda, President of CENC and Archbishop of the Diocese of Douala, Mgr Jean Mbarga, Archbishop of Yaounde and Mgr Kome Abraham, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Bafia.
Meanwhile, the communique also states that the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon will deposit a complain against ‘X’ for the assassination of Mgr Jean Marie Benoit Bala. The said case file will be managed by a college of lawyers that have been put in place to search for evidence and bring out the truth in the case of the ‘murdered’ Bishop.
Funeral services for the late Bishop will take place on August 2 – 3, 2017 in Bafia. A program will be made available to the public, the release states.
